I have been shooting wedding photography in my home county of Worcestershire for around 8 years. Photography is somewhat of a passion for me, and being invited to capture peoples wedding day a privilege I revel in. It is impossible to not take the responsibility of capturing a wedding day seriously, and that responsibility is something I remain constantly mindful of. Despite this, I try not to take myself too seriously.
The service that I offer is best described as informal, of course professional, but without some of the norms of wedding photography practice.
I see it as my job to capture the action as it happens and as such I rarely insist on any particular shots or poses. If you want a couple of posed shots and a couple of group shots then that is of course not a problem, but I’d never let it take up any more time than is entirely necessary. It’s my view that you should be making the most of your wedding day, not having hours of it taken up by posing for photos.
More often than not I work with an assistant, between the two of us we can capture all the most important events of the day without interrupting it. We like to get right in the action, but without imposing ourselves on it. We do our best to put everyone at ease with us as quickly as possible, allowing us to capture all those important moments as they happen without causing any distraction to them.
There is a level of professionalism retained, but the best compliments we have received are from guests who have commented that they thought we were just other guests who happen to be a bit more enthusiastic when it comes to taking photos. For us this means we have become a part of the day and not detracted from it.
If what I have described above sounds like the sort of service you are looking for from a photographer then feel free to get in touch. We can meet up over a coffee (or a pint), have a chat and see if we get on. It’s important to me that both you and your guests are comfortable with me on the big day, if we get on with each other then I think there is a good chance I will get on with your guests.
I work with GF Smith to offer very high quality printed photo books as extras to those who want them, but don’t insist on it. You get the best of the photos that I take on the day, depending on how long we are there, this is typically a few hundred. I provide them as a download or on a CD/memory stick, whatever suits you best. The files provided don’t have any watermarks, and come in both print and website ready sizes.
I don’t offer any wedding “packages” as such, I just charge by the hour on a sliding scale – if you would like a copy of my prices, or would like to find out more about the sort of photography I can offer for your big day, please get in touch!
